For the past six years I have been visiting Café Bon Bon regularly and I have always left with the feeling that it was an unforgettable experience. The food is always outstanding, the staff friendly and everything picture perfect. This weekend I went especially to have some of the chocolate cake and what a disappointment when I learnt that there was no chocolate cake or lemon meringue. In the past it was always available. Hopefully it will be waiting for me next time I visit.

We recently spent a weekend in Franschhoek and enjoyed two of the best breakfasts we have had in a long while at Cafe Bon Bon on the beautiful Le Petite Dauphine estate. The setting was picture perfect for a wet winter's morning - cosy and with a fireplace. The service is friendly, attentive and professional and the food is superb. Our breakfasts were not only perfectly prepared, but also beautifully presented. Wonderful fresh orange juice and coffee too. The lunch menu looked equally delicious and we will be back!

It is not often that Food and Setting are so well presented that you wish you could move in or at least spend another day or two. The mysterious bond that enfolds you is not only from the generous portions but from the friendliness of the staff all the way to to your uninterrupted walk through the Ancient library. The furnishings are SPECTACULAR. The tables molded with ingrained holes tell a story of antiquity. The books and portraits take you to a mystical land where you are sure you've been but somehow wish you could remember. The joy of watching happy guests receive their freshly baked Lemon Meringue or Chocolate Cake... the treat makes you want more and says NEXT time I've gotta have you. If its not Mysterious then its definitely Magnetic because everytime I think of Franschhoek I think of BON BON!
