Not a frequent visitor to La Parreirinha, even though it's just down the road, and have been in the area for over 35 years, BUT, whenever we do go there, it's always great. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent ambience, and well worth knowing there will be another visit. Thanks Parreirinha.

Very surprised, the food is outstanding, but the chicken was a little dry, even tho I asked for it to be slightly under-done, the ambiance is truly inviting and relaxed. The service from the waiters' is excellent. I will unfortunately critique the management. A particular individual, Jose, is really friendly, but does his job a little too efficiently. My family and I went out for a casual dinner and to enjoy each other's company, but unforgettably Jose made himself part of it and turned the conversation to himself. I have no problem with a manager making conversation, but keep it brief, and let me enjoy my meal. I know the Portuguese are known for their hospitality, but this was going a little too far.

I will defiantly be returning to give a 2nd review and hope that I will have a more time to enjoy my tables company & my meal.

If you like fantastic seafood, Portuguese bread, excellent service, very buzzy atmosphere, super everything, look no further. A bit of a drive from Northern Johannesburg and some parking problems in terms of space. Still worth the effort.

Their food is superb! Delicious meals from starters to mains to desserts. Hot, fresh and prepared in good timing. What a pleasure to visit this restaurant. The location doesn't matter when u receiving 5 star quality food and a good atmosphere.

My husband and I LOVE the restaurant and have been going there for years. Their prawn curry compared to MANY restaurants is by far the BEST! AND the prices are AWESOME TOO :-)

I have been going to Parreirinha for a good 10 years now and the food has always been better than good, its excellent, never have I had a bad experience. They make the BEST Trinchado EVER, I have tried many other Portuguese restaurants (and I judge them by their Trinchado) not one comes even close to Parreirinha! And by the way it is not only the food that is excellent but also the ambiance their service and their prices!!!!

On recommendation of a friend we decided to brave the cold weather and give it a try, all I can say is WOW! The service, the food, pricing, portions, everything is top notch!

The tastiest meal I have had in years, once again proving the small independents are still the best restaurants to visit, and it says a lot if you established your eatery in 1975 in the south and are still trading today. A big thumbs up!

Been eating at this place since Moses fell of the donkey. Their food is wonderful and the standards have never dropped. Try the bar if the restaurant is not yet open in the late mornings. They serve the same food. The seafood skewer a must to try.

I am a foodie of note and LOVE going out to dinner, trying new restaurants and new tastes. But have been so disappointed lately with the quality, prices and basically BORING menus we keep seeing in the northern suburbs. My hubbie and I were in the south visiting family and decided to have lunch at this landmark restaurant and had a DIVINE meal!! Seriously good food, simple but delicious flavours and good prices. The chocolate mousse was the best thing I have tasted in a long time, the peri peri baby chicken with fresh lemon and the steak trinchado were delicious. WOW. We will definately be making the trip out again - this time with the rest of the family to try out the seafood - and that chocolate mousse!!

Bit expensive but authentic and tasty, better than any seafood restaurant in the north of Jhb and not much fake stuff around and no airs and graces.
