I am a customer for many years, since the days of the previous owner before she moved to Cape Town. At that time the Patisserie Illovo produced the most scrumptious Cakes, pastries, cup cakes, fudge and the list goes on. I tasted many of those, all so delicious. Our family favorite is the Granadilla Cake the 20 or 26 cm, this cake is the best we've ever tasted! Helen is the owner now and we still go back for any occasion to buy the scrumptious granadilla cakes, and macroons. You simply have to go there for a lunch breakfast or just a slice of cake or a pastry, it's always the best outing to take a family member or friend along.

What a wonderful luncheon we experienced on the balcony outside the Patisserie a couple of weeks ago. Amazing service from Viv and staff. We enjoyed the delectable quiche (melt-in-the-mouth) with fresh salad and beyond mouthwatering desserts. I cannot recommend this cafe/bakery highly enough. Thanks Viv! P.S. The Meringues are SINFUL!

Helen makes the best macaroons this side of the Mediterranean! Not to mention all the other delectable goodies on offer like the red velvet cupcakes. I personally love the salmon fishcakes with goddess dressing. Yummy!
