If you have ever been to Greece or eaten in a good Greek restaurant it will have been impossible to walk away without a love for the food. Greek food can be creamy like the crumbling feta, decadent like taramosalata (Greek caviar spread recognised by its pinky colour), or refreshing like tzatziki (a dip made from yoghurt, cucumber and garlic).
Starters such as spanakopita (spinach and feta phyllo parcels) and olives, and marinated lamb falling off the bone as a main course are truly delicious. Deserts like Baklava are dominated by the flavours of sweet honey and nuts and are impossible to resist.
Greek Restaurants are generally airy and bright with a bustling atmosphere and there may even be some plate smashing and dancing.
