Restaurant description

Situated on Port Elizabeth's beach front, De Kelder is the perfect place for cosy evenings, intimate encounters, corporate dinners and celebrations.

The food is presented with style and style and class and a whole lot of flavour. Succulent streaks, venison, fresh line fish, prawns, crayfish and delectable desserts are amongst the many and varied specialities.

The wine list is extensive and chosen to compliment the menu. Staff members are friendly and knowledgeable and the service is excellent.

I love the ambiance, the rose petals on the red carpet upon entering the restaurant makes me feel like royalty, the music, the candles!! The food never disappoints. The menu and wine list is quite extensive. My husband is a celiac sufferer and the staff makes sure his meal does not get contaminated. They also caters for his special dietary needs. I just love De Kelder. It is truly our favourite eatery."

Everyone at our table was happy with their meals!
The only thing I can fault is the prawn dishes, whilst the prawns are absolutely fantastic, we found the starch to be under salted and dry as there are no sauces (we tried the prawn dish with both rice and the noodles)... in future, I would order a side sauce to throw over the rice / noodles.
But an amazing meal nonetheless and I can't wait to go back when I am in PE again!
And as it was extremely cold and windy, the bar smoking area was the cherry on top for us, really appreciated not having to venture out into the freezing cold!"
