Description:
Giles Restaurant - with its interesting food and stunning deck - fills a real need in the northern suburbs for a good eating place and convivial bar with great ambience. Open Mondays to Sundays (closed Sunday nights), it is a lunch and dinner venue.

A drink can be enjoyed on the deck or in the bar throughout the afternoon. Giles carries a cartoon theme across is walls and tables, and across most of its old world wooden interior. The menu is interesting and varied. The menu changes with the seasons and there are always special dishes available, varying from fish and chips (in newspaper) to aubergine towers. Giles caters for most tastes and continually monitors trends, introducing new dishes to meet customer needs.

Giles has a wine list that will have something for everybody. A monthly special event is the wine tasting on the last Sunday evening of the month. Top estates showcase their wines to the accompaniment of a five-course gourmet meal (booking absolutely essential).

Wonderful food., 30 Jan 2011
Reviewer: Graham & Doreen Pike . (Adventurousness: What is the chef's special today?)

Comments: We visited Giles restaurant on Friday for the first time ever. The place was buzzing when we arrived. The food was excellent and the service was very good, staff are friendly and helpful. It was well worth the travelling to get to it. Well worth a second visit. Steak and kidney pie was very tasty and we thourouly enjoyed the meal. My husband commented that the chicken livers done in the creamy sauce where second to none (unless he had led a sheltered life) .
