Description: This long established pub has certainly stood the test of time and whilst others have come and gone, has built up a huge clientele. Most of the clients are regulars and includes a host of well known personalities, who once having visited are hooked. Impeccably run by Wally and Ken, the pub combines the atmosphere of a real English Pub with the authentic feel and smell of the bush. The interior features superb attention to detail with aged wooden furniture, a delightful bar composed of thatch, wood and stone, and wall decorated with large murals of the African landscape. In the evenings the ambiance is further enhanced by authentic looking lanterns which create just enough lighting to add to the bush atmosphere. Traditional cast-iron pots referred to as potjies offer oxtail, curries and stews, and cordon bleu pub meals include all favourites such as bangers and mash, liver and onions, and steak and chips. There are also local specialties such as the popular biltong and avocado salad. |
