Description: Visitors to this eatery are sure to be enthralled by the lively décor and the fascinating nautical bric-a-brac. This distinguished restaurant continually updates its menu in keeping with the times and trends. Although it has been known as a seafood restaurant, with a variety of fish and shellfish on its menu, it now boasts an assortment of meat dishes too. The decor is unpretentious with practical dark wood mixed with comfortable upholstered cane chairs. Well placed pot plants and a couple of Asian statues add a touch of colour and interest and complete the laid back look which is pleasing to the eye. Enjoy a drink at the bar before ordering from the Thai and Vietnamese menu - the food is superb and the service impressive. The wine list has been compiled to compliment the traditional Asian menu and the off-dry, slightly sweeter wines are recommended to compliment the Thai flavours. The menu is certainly affordable with an impressive selection of dishes for vegetarians. Popular starters are the crystal prawn spring rolls and the innovative Meang Khum which involves making your own spinach cones from a variety of ingredients topped with the Chef’s secret sauce. Main course favourites are the ever-popular beef in oyster sauce, chicken with cashew nuts and the fragrant Thai curries. The duck dishes are particularly noteworthy with specialties such as the duck in honey and the duck in red wine both highly recommended. |
