Description: Doppio Zero started out as a bakery cum café in Greenside in 2002, and soon became a household name thanks to its highly successful bakery. Whether you are an early bird or a night owl, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with the sight and smell of freshly baked bread (ciabatta, buttermilk & barley rye, sour dough, focaccia etc) giving a boost to your appetite! In addition there is also a tempting display of mouth- watering pastries and biscuits, not forgetting to mention the exclusive range of Gelato with delectable flavours such as nougat, pistachio, biscotti and straccitela. Conveniently located in the exclusive Bel Air Shopping Centre, Doppio Zero has plenty of outside seating with ample umbrellas to ensure patrons keep cool and comfortable on warm summer days. Bel Air is a popular weekend breakfast venue, which is not surprising when one views the extensive breakfast menu. There are egg dishes a plenty (try the Eggs Bennini with spinach and hollandaise sauce) as well as vegetarian options such as the Open Veg Stack. There is also a selection of freshly baked muffins, bagels and croissants to enjoy with assorted topping, plus fruit, muesli and yoghurt if you prefer a healthier option. Speciality salads include the Thai chicken with sweet chill sauce or the very popular calamari and rocket. Main course recommendations include the Tagliata Con Rucola (rump or fillet steak with balsamic reduction, roast potatoes and fresh rocket), and the Piccolo platter with its combination of prawns and calamari. Gourmet pizzas feature unusual combinations like the Greek-style “Costa Plenty” with roast lamb, rosemary, feta and tzatsiki, or the Middle Eastern inspired “Baba Zana” with brinjals, chilli, feta, artichokes and drizzled with tahini. There is a substantial selection of pastas too – try the Linguine Ai Gamberi with prawns or the Lulu Linguine with pan-fried chicken livers and bacon. |
