Description: As the name implies this wonderful restaurant serves an impressive selection of Vietnamese dishes together with a variety of other Asian cuisine. This style of Asian cuisine is more subtle than Thai or Chinese and does not include the fiery spicy food that one associates with Thai cooking. There is less emphasis on hot spices and more on fish sauce and ginger. The appealing décor has a soothing water feature, attractive lanterns and touches of bamboo to enhance the exotic ambience, whilst the open plan kitchen allows you the opportunity to watch the highly professional team of chefs at work. Charming waiters in traditional outfits are on hand to explain the intricacies in the menu and ensure your dining experience is a memorable one. The wine list has been compiled to compliment the Asian menu and specials and limited release labels are regularly available. The slightly sweeter wines are normally recommended as a winning combination for the fragrant Thai and Vietnamese dishes. The menu is extensive and it is one of those restaurants where you should order a number of dishes and share. Starter recommendations are the prawn and vegetable Crystal Spring Rolls and the Indochine Dumplings . Main course specialities are the Saigon Wok Beef, the Caramelized Fish (served in a clay pot) and the superb Half Roast Duck with Plum sauce. Finish your meal with a traditional dessert such as the Vietnamese-style Coconut Flan or Deep Fried Ice Cream. |
