Themed around the nostalgic emergence of the motor vehicle in popular American culture in the early 20th century, the décor is stylishly original and unlike anything else in South Africa. Picture The Gourmet Garage in Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa The Gourmet Garage menu is filled with a wide array of dishes, of which as previously mentioned, burgers are the mainstay. However they serve a superb selection of Steaks, Ribs, Fish Calamari and Chicken.. For starters they have some awesome Nachos (plain, chicken or blue-cheese and chilli), Chicken livers, Cheese Fingers and more. There are quality fresh salads and a host of side orders. As far as the Burgers are concerned - there are over thirty to choose from. Starting from the basic (all the burgers have a 200g pure beef patti), there are common combinations like the cheese burger; the egg burger; the monkey gland burger; the Hawaiian Burger - the list is long! Then there are designer burgers like Lamb and Ostrich and even a Moët Burger for two. For those who don’t like red meat, there are a number of chicken options and some nice veggie burgers too. For dessert there is soft-serve ice cream, hot chocolate brownies, and more. The Gourmet Garage is fully licensed and they serve some decent wine too.
