Description: Situated on 6 acres of lawns and gardens the Thatchery offers you peace, tranquillity and privacy for your special occasion. Amongst many gardens, lawns, fish pond, dam and bush veldt, creates a feeling of being in the country. We have four venues, two formal and two outdoor. The Under Milkwood is our larger formal venue which accommodates 80/120 guests. This venue has its own fireplace, toilets, buffet, private bar, and indoor dance floor. Adjacent to the fish pond, with 2 sliding doors onto the gardens and an open air under thatch dance floor it has been designed for that special occasion. Casual tables and chairs are always set outside on the lawns surrounding the dance floor. Floating candles could be lit up on the fishpond and with our gardens lights creates a great atmosphere in the evenings. Primrose is our smaller formal venue which accommodates around 40 guests with small dance floor. It also hosts it own toilets, is adjacent to a large fireplace, comfortable sofas and our Glenmorange bar. Sliding doors leading out onto the patio with casual tables and chairs situated under our huge Jacaranda tree. Bluebell our outdoor function venue affiliated to the Dog and Ball upmarket country pub. it accommodates 100 for informal / casual type functions. Should your numbers be sufficient to book the whole venue we can easily accommodate a dance floor and band area. It has 3 separate lapas which can be booked out for private functions accommodating between 15 and 50 guests. Spit braai, braai and buffet facilities available in these venues. Set under huge glorious trees and gardens and in filtered shade all day this a great venue for the summertime. The a la Carte Restaurant is our formal cute and cozy restaurant is available for that special occasion. Our reception to the restaurant hosts large fireplace and sofas for relaxing with Welcome Sherry on arrival. Attached are some of our menus, which are interchangeable. We also design menus to individual requirements. Please note that there is no venue hire.
