Crawdaddys Good Food (Brooklyn)
Ambiance: Bustling Main course (avg): R100 Licensed: yes Open: Lunch , Dinner Sunday - Thursday: 12:00 - 22:30 Friday & Saturday: 12:00 - 23:30
Description: Situated in the busy Brooklyn area of Pretoria where there are restaurants a plenty, Crawdaddy’s is one of those establishments that is bustling throughout the day whether you arrive late morning for a quick beer and a sandwich or mid afternoon for a late lunch. The large shady terrace offers plenty of tables for al fresco dining as well as separate smoking and non smoking sections. The colourful décor has a New Orleans deep-south theme with bright tablecloths and eye catching wall decorations. Allow yourself at least 15 minutes to study the menu which is vast and has an enormous array of enticing dishes. There are plenty of light meals including a range of salads, burgers and Crawdaddy’s own original spud bakes. When it comes to Seafood, Crawdaddy’s is definitely the King. The range of combos is truly impressive with every conceivable combination you can think of, including Chicken & Calamari, Rib & Prawns and even Chicken & Chops! Another of Crawdaddy’s specialities is the Chowders, and whilst most of us are familiar with a Seafood, or Crab Chowder, Crawdaddy’s selection includes more unusual combinations such as Chicken and Prawn. Meat lovers will be pleased to note that the steaks (as well as the chops) are available in different size portions to cater for the heartiest of appetites with a 1 kg rump, through to a 200 g sirloin for the “not so hungry”. To compliment your steak choose one of the many sauces that are available, or treat yourself to a superb curry as both the prawn and the crab curries are highly recommended. If you have room for dessert try the Frangelico Tiramisu or the Chocolate Mousse which is served in a crunchy chocolate basket. |
