Description: Brasserie de Paris is a fashionable up-market French fine dining restaurant located in Waterkloof Ridge in close proximity to the Pretoria Country Club. The restaurant was established in 1994 and has for a number of years been rated one of the top ten restaurants in South Africa. At Brasserie the unique architecturally designed house, the hand selected flower arrangements on your table and the carefully prepared and composed dishes speak of our attention to detail. The ambience is elegant, intimate and contemporary. Our policy is to source only the best quality fresh ingredients from reputable suppliers and to prepare them with love, care and respect. The restaurant offers patrons an extensive selection of South African and international wines, with particular emphasis on a substantial number of French wines and champagnes. All the wines have been carefully chosen by French trained sommelier Nicolas Valet, and to complement your meal with an appropriate wine, we also offer a selection of wines by the glass. Brasserie can accommodate 30-40 people seated and can host functions such as small weddings and birthday parties. In addition up to 70 people can be accommodated on the roof deck with sweeping views of Waterkloof Ridge in the al fresco fine dining tradition. Chef Marlise Whelan and her staff specialize in French traditionale and nouvelle cuisine and the menu includes exciting specials that will change regularly according to market availability. We purposefully offer a limited choice of starters, main courses and desserts because we believe that we should not substitute quality for quantity. Main course recommendations include a game fillet with a spinach and feta cheese phyllo pastry parcel, and the Brasserie de Paris style beef fillet with a port sauce. Brasserie desserts are our pride and joy and we regularly introduce new and exciting flavours, textures and combinations in which creativity is celebrated. If you would like to do things the French way, we suggest trying our cheese platter (which consists of both local and imported French and international cheeses) with a glass of port before your dessert.
