Description: In 1991, our first Indian restaurant, Angan, opened in Queen Street. This was the first restaurant in South Africa to introduce the Tandoori oven, Bengali sweetmeats, Idli and Dosa. After that Jewel of India opened in April 1996 on request of the Holiday Inn Southern Sun Group, being the first authentic Indian Cuisine Restaurant in KZN. This was only the first restaurant of many more to come.

Comments: This is the best authentic Indian food I have eaten outside of India!
Even in India we don't get such good food at most places!

Comments: As a family we love visiting the Jewel of India, the food is divine, the service is great and the staff are all so friendly. We always take our friends from overseas to this resturant cause they serve truly authentic Indian cuisine ... Luv it!
