Description: Café 1999 has become quite an institution on the Durban Berea with its simple urban chic interior. This loud and vibey café-style restaurant is a popular venue bursting with patrons ranging from the young and funky to slick businessmen sipping on champagne and nibbling on some tasty little tit-bits. Our style of service is relaxed but by no means slack. The concept of the restaurant is to celebrate taste so therefore there are no starters and no main courses instead the menu is divided into tit-bits and bit-parts. Tit-bits are dishes which are small and tasty and have been specifically designed to be shared and the idea is - to fill your table with tit-bits and celebrate taste. Bit-Parts are the main affair of the evening and are available in half and full portions, so if you’ve hade one too many tit-bits you can always opt for a half portion. Please do yourself a favour and try the desserts. Chef Marcelle Roberts and her team have been creating award winning food and satisfying the Durban locals for past ten years. The wines are selected to compliment the menu and are hand picked by Samantha and Sean mainly from boutique wine estates , and are effortlessly poured by our knowledgeable staff. |
