Description: Gaby’s is a Portuguese restaurant owned and run by Gaby Fernandes and his wife Lorella, while Lorella’s father, Mario, keeps a watchful eye on the kitchen. Gaby and Lorella have been involved in the restaurant business for many years, owning a busy restaurant in Florida Road, before selling and relocating to Durban North. Quality is important and carefully controlled. Our food is prepared simply with fresh ingredients, made to order. We specialise in Seafood and Peri-Peri Chicken. The traditional Portuguese dishes such as Bachalau are also available, as well as imported Portuguese Sardines. Peri-Peri features prominently on the menu, made by Gaby using his secret recipe. Bazza-Ku is also available to take home. House Specialities start off with chicken liver, grilled, then sautéed with wine, garlic and peri-peri or chouriço (traditional Portuguese sausage) grilled. Or Prawn Boca, prawn tails, grilled with garlic and herb butter, to name a few. The main course features LM prawns, grilled with lemon and garlic butter sauce with optional peri-peri. Or grilled LM chicken is another firm favourite. Our Crab Curry is loved by those who have patience as it is served in the shell in a mild aromatic curry sauce with coconut. For meat eaters, the Bief a Portugese si always a good option. This is a 300g matured rump, served with a wine, garlic and peri-peri sauce topped with eggs. Also highly regarded are our Kingklip and Sole. Both grilled with a lemon and garlic butter sauce. |
