Description:
The Urban Grounds team is passionate about fair trade and relationship coffees and are always seeking out ways to keep their business as local as possible. From tree to cup they are involved in fair trade initiatives with their farmers. You won’t find beans roasted in Italy here, they are trying to expose South Africans to the great artisan coffee roasters right here in our own country. Kristy comments, “Freshness is so important to us, that’s why we don’t serve beans older than 14 days from roasting. By using South African roasters, we can achieve the freshness and quality that we want.”

Urban Grounds Coffee Emporium create a myriad of amazing drinks. You can have a cappuccino with their caramely espresso blend, or get adventurous and try a cappuccino with a single origin coffee such as the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe or Rwanda Musasa. Finally, a place where you can shout out “Double skinny three quarter flat white!” and the baristas will know exactly what you are talking about!

For the not so serious coffee drinker there are amazing specialty coffees, like the Lite White Berry (a combination of espresso, raspberry, white chocolate and low fat steamed milk) and the Bar One Mocha (dark chocolate, caramel, espresso and steamed milk topped off with whipped cream, bar one pieces, and caramel and chocolate drizzle).

If tea is your thing, indulge in one of the many loose-leaf teas on offer. From whole flower chamomile to Chinese show teas, there is a lot of ground for the tea drinker to cover.
Signature dish: Bar One Mocha
Espresso, chocolate, caramel, steamed milk, whipped cream and bar one pieces on top! It's coffee, it's dessert, it's multi-tasking.
