Ryan and Rob Mitchell along with Steve Hulley decided that the best way of showing what friendships are made of is to bring people together through good food, a warm welcoming atmosphere and a cold Guinness. So the Waxy O'Connors was opened on 2 October 2001. So why not come in and meet Ryan, Rob and Steve, and let them show you what being in an Irish pub is all about. A unique ambience - There is nothing to equal the ambience of an Irish pub, nothing to match it's complex mix of social interactions. The Irish have always known that. Now other nationalities are coming to the same conclusion. Irish pubs allow people to relax and be themselves. To take pleasure in company and enjoy the art of conversation. To revel in music and song - to combine good wholesome food with satisfying and distinctive drinks. Our delicious home made pies and casseroles include the Georgie Porgie Pie - cubed beef and button mushrooms slowly cooked in a red wine, ale and brown onion sauce; and the Beef Guinness Casserole - cubed beef, slowly stewed with Guinness, bay leaf and carrots. Our speciality dishes include the Green Peppercorn Fillet - fillet stuffed with mushrooms, green peppercorns, mozzarella and served with a fresh peppercorn sauce; and Waxy's Chicken - crumbed, stuffed deep-fried chicken breast, with bacon, mushroom, mozzarella and topped with a tangy cheese sauce, served with vegetables and fries. |
