Description: One of Pietermaritzburg's most exciting restaurants located in Cascades Center overlooking the lush indigenous forest is Turtle Bay. The ambience of the Restaurant strikes you immediately. With its wonderful green-views and contemporary decor, Turtle Bay maintains an informal feel, which is welcoming, laid-back and at the same time vibrant. The colour scheme is a striking combination of marmalade and canvas tones. The Restaurant places great emphasis on bringing people together in a warm, elegant and informal setting. The casually elegant setting lends itself to dishes such as the 'pocket of Pork' with prune and apricot stuffing, served with a reduction of its own juices and a baked apple or if you prefer, "Moroccan fillet" tender strips of fillet pan-fried this cracked coriander, dates and cinnamon and is served with minted yoghurt and couscous. A vegetarian favourite is fast proving to be the vegetable strudel with sun-dried tomato pesto. Head chef: Garth Bayley |
