Description:
AfricanSwiss is very different to any existing restaurant in South Africa and can properly be best compared with the unique and stylish places that operate successfully in cities like Zuerich, London or Paris.

In AFRICANSWISS an open plan kitchen allows clients to view the ongoing preparation of food. No artificial ingredients or frozen convenient food is used. Swiss style bread is baked daily. Delicacies, such as Swiss Cheese Fondue made from imported real Swiss cheeses or rare calf sausages are also found on the menu. AFRICANSWISS uses meat out of their own production to insure that no hormones are used for fast growth. Calve meat is genuine, so are all the traditional recipes from Switzerland.

A new addition is our sour Dough Pizza, made out of organic flour, wood fired. We call it "Genunine Italien Pizza" and so do our patrons!

And now Sushi. My Sushi chef’s name is Lin Kong or short Ken. He trained with well know Outlet Sakura in Jo’burg. Sushi is according to Wikipedia a vinegar rice, topped with other ingredients, such as fish or sliced raw fish called sashimi. According to me it’s an addictive way of getting fed with the most beautiful taste the world has to offer. Ken does Fashion Sandwiches, California Rolls, Makis, and even a vegetarian Inari Nigiri (who needs fish?) that’s out of this world.

We deliver to selected places an of course Take Away.

Head chef: Michael Manegold

Signature dish: Gnocchi, Wiener Schnitzel, Zuercher Geschnetzeltes, Italien Pizza, Sushi

Food to remember, 30 Jan 2011
Reviewer: anonymous (Adventurousness: What is the chef's special today?)

Comments: We were lucky enough to have experienced this wonderful taste of Switzerland in our own back yard. Their food was really great, every bit of the Afican infusion with the Swiss touches to make the night and food extremely memorable. The addition of the new pizza oven has made a definite impact on the menu. We would without a doubt recommend AfricanSwiss!!!
