Description: A world of choice. If you had to sum up Mint in a word it would be choice. Patrons at the all-day dining restaurant at the top of St George’s Mall are spoilt for it. First there’s the decision about where to sit. You could enjoy the vibrant café culture under the trees in the Mall or watch your meal being prepared in the show kitchen. You could also opt for the exclusivity of a private dinner on the mezzanine level. The choice extends to the menu, but rather than being overwhelming it allows you to indulge in a favourite or pick and choose from different dishes. It’s a classic menu featuring seafood, meat and poultry grills. The clever twist is that many starters can be ordered as main courses and vice versa. Alternatively you could choose three starters or only order a main course. “Like the interiors, the menu is designed to accommodate different customers with different needs,” says Food and beverage director, Willem du Toit. “Whether you’re on holiday and want to enjoy a long leisurely evening meal, want to sample a whole lot of flavours or want a quick, tasty business lunch, there’s a combination that works.” The wine list includes 80 South African wines, which complement the menu and which an independent panel selected from nearly 900 wines. A cocktail list offers timeless favourites as well as non-alcoholic options. Mint is unashamedly contemporary. The interior is bright and airy and is bounded by the open-plan show kitchen, a floor-to-ceiling wine wall and full-length glass sliding doors that give uninhibited views of the St George’s Mall. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. |
