Description: With two highly successful stores already in the group, Greens was fortunate to secure a prime location in the hub of the southern suburbs which is within walking distance to the surrounding office complexes as well as Cavendish Square. The sort after location has on site parking, as well as delightful mountain views, and thanks to the north facing aspect makes the most of sunny weather particularly in the winter months. The attractive outside terrace has plenty of umbrellas for alfresco dining in the summer months and is an excellent venue for business breakfasts and leisurely lunches. The menu offers a substantial choice of breakfasts from the Traditional English, to the ever popular Eggs Benedict, as well as the more adventurous combination of French toast, bacon and berries. Favourites at lunch time include Open Sandwiches with a variety of fillings, freshly prepared salads (such as the Bacon, Beetroot, Feta and Pumpkin seeds), and the De Luxe Beef Burger with bacon, cheddar and onion marmalade. Crispy thin based Pizzas, which are prepared in a wood-fired oven, are popular in the evenings, and the gourmet selection offers some unusual combinations such as Smoked chicken, Brie and Cranberry. Other recommendations are the fresh Kingklip, Chefs 360g Beef Fillet Steak, and the Penne Amatriciana for those who enjoy their pasta with a bit of a bite. Breakfasts are definitely a speciality at Greens with an enormous selection of egg combinations ranging from the traditional English with all the trimmings, to the Eggs Benedict au Salmon. Healthier options are also popular such as the Fresh Fruit platter and Museli & Yoghurt. Throughout the day you can enjoy a wide variety of open sandwiches, (try the prawn, watercress and horseradish mayo), ciabatta with generous fillings, and excellent salads like the bacon, beetroot, feta and pumpkin seeds combination. More substantial meals include wood fired pizzas with gourmet toppings like the salmon, crème fraiche, caviar and watercress or the Mediterranean style chorizo, feta and olives. There are several pasta dishes too, and a very good chicken pie. Last but not least the burgers are highly recommended particularly the beef burger with bacon, avo and cheddar. |
