Description:
During the American Civil War (while the farmers were away fighting), a new breed of entrepreneur was born, the Cattle Barons. These immensely rich and powerful men, along with their cowboys moved millions of unattended Texan cattle vast distances (under adverse conditions) across the Kansas plains to Railheads for transport to market centres. This helped generate income which stabliized the war-torn Texan economy.

Nestling in the heart of the pristine Durbanville area, the Durbanville Cattle Baron has a distinct country and western flavour, and boasts a popular evening trade with it's large, fully licensed bar and sizzling, mouth-watering meals. If you're visiting from out of town, the rustic approaches to the town will sharpen your appetite for that legendary steak that we've become renowned for.

The restaurant is air-conditioned, fully licensed offers a seating capacity of 280, secure parking, full a la carte menu and is open 7 days a week for dinner and 6 days a week for lunch (closed Sat lunch). Reservations are essential.

A man's meal, 29 Mar 2011
Reviewer: Danielle (Adventurousness: What is the chef's special today?)

Comments: Well, I took my man here for his birthday meal, and boy, was he chuffed! They do mean steaks here, as the name suggests, you should order red meat, with some chips, it comes with the standard tasty bit of creamed spinach and sweet butternut on the side usually the only veg most men eat. But what I like most is the variety of steaks (like the one soaked in brandy and then flambéed at the table) or also the Sunday buffet is quite good, very good price also!
