Description: Having established an excellent reputation in the southern suburbs and city bowl, Greens has now expanded to the northern suburbs and is fast becoming a favourite haunt for many residents and corporate clients in the Plattekloof area. The well planned interior is very spacious and offers a lounge area for informal dining/meetings where comfortable couches and coffee tables ensure that you can enjoy a cup of excellent Italian coffee together with a sandwich or perhaps a freshly baked croissant. The sheltered courtyard provides a sunny spot for enjoying a relaxing breakfast or leisurely lunch which will be highly popular in the summer months. The décor reflects the Greens signature with the emphasis on natural materials incorporating lots of wood and stone to create the chic understated look that has made Greens such a popular venue in the southern suburbs. The bar area is particularly large with ample seating for those who wish to enjoy a pre-dinner or lunch time drink before sitting down to enjoy their meal. The fully stocked bar offers a selection of cocktails and liquers, whilst a comprehensive wine list features both well known vineyards in the Western Cape as well as some of the smaller boutique estates. Greens are noted for their substantial choice of breakfasts to cater for hearty appetites as well as the more health conscious. Choose from an endless variety of combinations such as Eggs Benedict, traditional English with all the trimmings, scrambled eggs with salmon, to mention but a few of the options available. There are also sweeter breakfast treats such as the French toast with bacon and berries, and wholesome museli and fresh fruit. Throughout the day choose from a selection of open sandwiches, ciabattas with an interesting selection of fillings (try the black mushroom, brie and fig), salads and light meals. For more hearty meals, the burgers are highly recommended as well as the fresh line fish. Pasta options include a spicy prawn, chicken and chilli which is available in either penne or tagliatelle, and for vegetarians the pizza selection is substantial with combinations such as the butternut, black olive and ricotta, or the mushroom, blue cheese, pear and rocket. |
