Description: Brothers Greg and Mike Huckle opened Pirates Steakhouse and Pub in October 1990. Their motto was "A happy customer always comes back". Greg says that they have continued to stand by their motto and ensure that their customers are happy - and it is this principle that has made the Pirates Brand the success it is today. Shortly after opening, Greg married Julie, an experienced restauranteur. Julie promptly joined him in the running of Pirates Plumstead and together, with a dedicated group of staff, they have built a formidable team that is committed to giving their customers the high standard of service that they deserve. A second branch, Pirates Pub and Grill in Hout Bay, opened in December 2005. The Hout Bay store is rapidly becoming a hit with the local residents and visitors to the area. It is difficult to say which dish is the most popular as all their steaks, burgers and ribs have won internationally acclaimed awards. If red meat is not your first choice, the Chicken and Bacon Florentino is a must. The chicken fillet is smothered with bacon, creamed spinach and lightly grilled cheese. Next time you visit Pirates, make sure you pop into the cosy little pub adjacent to the restaurants, where you will find a diversity of people ranging from friendly to rockers to university students and ordinary people enjoying a good night out. Join the Pirates Dining Club and become a Privateer. The Pirates Dining Club creates camaraderie amongst friends and regular patrons, offers members the opportunity to enjoy good food, drinks, conversation and entertainment at affordable prices. In this way Pirates gives back to those patrons who gave the restaurants their continued patronage and who appreciate the high standards the Pirates Group strive to maintain. Club Members enjoy benefits which include variety of monthly dining specials, Happy Hour in the pub and 20% discount on drinks ordered in the pub. Privateers receive a Pirates Meal Voucher on their birthday and are entitled to a Pirates Dining Club Card and Club Newsletter. |
