Satori (Kalk Bay)
Ambiance: Family friendly Main course (avg): R60 Licensed: no Open: Lunch , Dinner Tuesday - Sunday: Lunch: 11:30 - 16:00 Dinner: 17:00 - 22:00
Description: With a mildly Tuscan art - house eclectic feel, this relaxed restaurant offers food that is modest, wholesome and inviting. The interior is bright and cheerful by day with sunny creamy walls and mosaic patterns, and at night takes on the most delightful ambience due in part to the combination of soft ceiling lights, strings of fairy lights and plenty of candles. The staff of Satori believes that a smaller quality menu of hand-selected, well presented ingredients and excellent service is what makes the difference in a consistent dining 'experience'. The menu offers salads that are garden fresh and pictures to behold. All pasta sauces, about 15, are made on order and the pizzas are thin-based and wood-oven baked. Gluten free and wheat free are available. Desserts include home made tiramisu, brandy tart and the most amazing lemon cheese cake as well as many ice-cream varieties. The portions are generous you will not leave Satori feeling hungry. A moderate wine list is available and a variety of special wines is often available. As a family neighbourhood restaurant, the staff of Satori encourages long stays. A game of backgammon, scrabble, chess or even pick up sticks is played at tables where families and couples catch up over good wholesome food and drink. An ideal size for parties and functions, there is no venue fee provided numbers are adequate. Satori roughly translates into ‘individual Enlightenment’, or a flash of sudden awareness. |
