Description: This quaint venue in the picturesque village of Kommetjie has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a shaded outside area with splendid mountain views.

Formerly known as the British Bulldog, Helmsman Pub and Restaurant changed hands in May 2011, and is now captained by new owners. Committed to the people of Kommetjie, their new name, striving for the best quality food, excellent service with a professional, yet relaxed approach.

Helmsman has a lovely outside area which is child and dog friendly. There is live music on a Saturday Evening and Sunday afternoon which creates a splendid atmosphere when frequenting this spot to watch sport, listen to music or enjoy Sunday lunch roast.

Comments: It's the third time we've been to the Helmsman and it never disappoints. Every single thing we've tried on the menu was delicious. There's always a friendly cheerful atmosphere -with live music over weekends and public holidays. Even if you're, like us, not a Kommetjie local the owners always go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Comments: I was at the Helmsman this past Saturday evening (21 Jan '12) for a drink and light meal. We all enjoyed the evening including the fantastic music provided by the band.

The food was tasty, cooked with care and nicely presented. Excellent value for one's money.

I wish the owners all the very best and I hope that you together with your staff will have many profitable years to come.
