Description:
The downstairs restaurant and garden pergola seat 40 and 64 people respectively. The restaurant is a cozy country style with a large fireplace for those cold rainy winter nights. The restaurant is complimented by its own cocktail bar and is therefore ideal for private functions. The pergola area is sheltered from the wind and is ideal for afternoon gatherings of friends and family.

The pizzas are baked in a wood burning pizza oven and are an absolute must. Two of the pizza available recently went through to the finals of the South African leg of the Glabal Pizza Challenge 2010 with the cook-off held at the Hostex convention in the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Skebanga’s pub is where you gather with your friends to enjoy a cold beer, fine wine or something a little stronger. When you aren’t watching a sports event on the TV or jostling for real estate around the fireplace (winter), swing your bar stool around and savor the breathtaking sea view. The pub leads onto a deck with seating for more than 80 people. The view from the deck stretches from Chapmans Peak, across Noordhoek beach to Kometjie lighthouse and on to Slankop mountain. This is when you reach for the extensive cocktail menu and wait for the sun to set right in the center of the view.

Wonderful relaxed and friendly place, 17 Sep 2011
Reviewer: Peter ,Thea , Nala & Nitro Douglas (Adventurousness: I can't pronounce it, but i'll eat it!)

Comments: We have been visiting Red Hearing so many times and never been disappointed. Extremely professional and friendly owner, bar staff and waiters together with the amazing views and wonderful food. The only place where we can take our dogs and feel at home and welcome. There is nothing more you can ask for! Well done and keep it up! There are not many places like yours!

For all Grazers, 02 Feb 2011
Reviewer: Tarryn and Mark (Adventurousness: What is the chef's special today?)

Comments: Being vegan means that it's not always an easy, pleasant experience (for either party) going to a non vegan specific restaurant, but we were totally blown away by the effort put in by the staff at the Herring. We mentioned in pre-booking earlier about our dietary requirements and were told to mention it to the chef later that night. When we arrived at 8, the waiter had a list of things that Paul had especially designed around our needs...so we had some of everything and it was totally fantastic. We recommend them to all our vegan and non vegan friends and look forward to our next visit. Thanks Paul and staff.
