Description:
Mango Ginger’s focus is on creating healthy, nutritious and fabulously flavoured foods. We use only organic flour, pure fats and organic fresh produce where possible to create decadent, delicious treats.

Mango Ginger is owner run and the friendly, efficient staff are barista trained. The atmosphere is intimate and professional with our baked goods on display in a cabinet and fridge. In the pre-dawn hours the baker produces a range of breads and pastries and our immensely popular wheat-free organic pies.

A selection of biscuits, both wheat / gluten free, as well as naughty treats e.g. Pistachio Nut Shortbread. We open at 7.30am for coffee and pastries and start cooking breakfasts from 8.00am. Lunches are kept alive by the ever changing specials board, listing the soup and quiches of the day as well as main meals.

Examples of these include Potato Rosti with smoked salmon, herbed cream cheese and salad, Parmesan Chicken Strips on crostini with a cooked tomato salsa, pesto and garnished with rocket and olives; Wheat Free Crepes filled with lemon, artichoke chicken and garnished with freshly blanched asparagus. On cooler days a favourite is Lamb, Almond and Ginger Casserole with a side serving of short-grain organic brown rice. Favourites on the menu include our Super Steak Sandwich and heavenly Lemon Tarts. There are many options for vegetarians and customers intolerant of wheat and gluten.

The kitchen remains busy with supply out, outside catering and lunch & tea platters. We also make celebration cakes to order. Mango Ginger is not licensed but no corkage is charged for those who wish to drink wine or beer with their meal.

Our customers feel our passion and love for the work we do. The business was nominated in the Cape Talk / Nedbank Small Business Awards and achieved a place as finalist.

Comments: I had lunch here on my birthday. Since I am gluten & wheat intolerate, it's a mission to eat out and for the first time i could actually order something off the menu without a hundred questions! A fabulous eating experience! The food is top notch!

Comments: If you like breakfast foods, lunch fare, desserts and tea/coffee. Go here. Decently priced and scrumptious food. Generous portions. I love the eggs Benedict and the omelet's. Cannot go wrong with the apple, apricot, pecan crumble. Fresh bakery items to buy as well and gluten free items for those that need them. A definite do.
