Description: During the American Civil War (while the farmers were away fighting), a new breed of entrepreneur was born, the Cattle Barons. These immensely rich and powerful men, along with their cowboys moved millions of unattended Texan cattle vast distances (under adverse conditions) across the Kansas plains to Railheads for transport to market centres. This helped generate income which stabliized the war-torn Texan economy. In the process, Jerry-built cattle towns such as Abilene, Wichita and Dodge became infamous. The Cattle Barons became legends. Established in 1996 and an integral part of the Table View area, this regular dining venue for residents from Cape Town to Melkbosstrand has introduced many visitors from abroad to genuine South African grain-fed beef. Although many loyal customers rate us as the best seafood restaurant in town, we firmly believe that this accolade has resulted from all our products having to match the superior quality and taste of our steaks, which we specialise in. The Cattle Baron in Table View has been rated as one of the top steakhouses in the country. The restaurant is air-conditioned, fully licensed and offers a seating capacity of 170, secure parking, full a la carte menu, caters for year end functions, has accommodation for large parties and a private booth seating design. Reservations are essential. |
