Description:
The Driftwood Café is ideally placed to serve the growing community in the newly established suburb of Parklands, which is literally exploding overnight in all directions. Conveniently attached to the Super Plants Nursery, the setting is superb with a carefully landscaped garden, delightful miniature lake with ducks, and a safe play area for children. There is a large patio area with outside tables to ensure that diners can take full advantage of the tranquil garden setting and distant views.

The spacious interior offers a non-smoking section and there is easy access to the Nursery through the restaurant. Appropriately named Driftwood Café the attractive rustic décor is complimented by techniqued walls and warm earthy colours which are in keeping with the natural environment. The ambience is decidedly relaxed and unpretentious, which makes Driftwood Café a perfect venue for the whole family especially for breakfasts, brunches and dinners. Driftwood Café has already established a reputation as a great venue for functions. Whether you are looking for a day time wedding venue or planning an evening birthday or anniversary function, congenial host Dale (ex Dale's Place) will gladly rearrange tables & put together a special hot or cold buffet menu to suit your requirements. Where space is more of a premium a set menu or spit braai can also be arranged if preferred.

One of the reasons why Driftwood Café is so popular for breakfast is the versatility of the menu, offering the widest range of breakfasts in the Table View/Parklands area. For a delicious light lunch try the Driftwood Salad - grilled chicken breast, crisp bacon, fried banana, avocado served on salad greens - definitely a Chef's speciality and certainly one of the most popular lunch time dishes. For those who enjoy something more substantial try the Hunter's Schnitzel, which consists of a crumbed pork fillet topped with a mushroom/ham/red wine cream sauce or the lamb shank, both of which are highly recommended. There is also an excellent selection of sandwiches, and an assortment of mouth-watering cakes for mid-morning coffee breaks and afternoon teas. For those with a sweet tooth, a large selection of cakes and muffins are available.

Reviewer: cheryl crandield (Adventurousness: What is the chef's special today?)

Comments: As before the food was of the best quality. Taste and presentation were outstanding. Friendly service in a casual setting making for a very relaxed evening.
The choices on the menu ranged from a light repaste to a more substantial meal, but, there was enough to choose from to suit anyone's palette. We would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Take a bow management and staff.
