Baia is the big event of the season. An overnight sensation, Baia is the new landmark for fine seafood and cuisine in Cape Town. Newly opened this summer in THE prime location on the V&A Waterfront, the sophisticated restaurant and cocktail bar is the talk of the town among lovers of fine food and wine.

With sweeping terraces that offer spectacular views, Baia (meaning the Bay), lives up to its name in every way. Chic and contemporary, Baia is on the cutting-edge of the restaurant scene, serving signature seafood dishes and fabulous fare in a glorious setting that welcomes visitors to Cape Town in style.

Luis Viana is your familiar host who warmly welcomes every patron to Baia. Connoisseurs in Gauteng will recognise the leading restaurateur who has opened a range of top restaurants. Baia is his new passion. He says, "I have a big following among diners in South Africa. Now I've got the prime spot on the Waterfront, I'm going to make Baia the best restaurant in the country for seafood."

Baia is a culinary destination, a gastronomic experience in the grand colonial Portuguese tradition. Renowned chef Gert Bredenhann, guarantees, "At Baia people will eat with their eyes as well as their palates." The menu will tantalise your palate with the mouth-watering flavours of the freshest Mozambican shellfish, freshly caught Cape lobster, west coast oysters and mussels, a traditional Portuguese seafood cataplana or line-fish in a classic beurre blanc sauce. For meat-lovers, there is a gourmet selection of grilled meat and poultry dishes.

Baia welcomes you to the pleasure zone. Linger at tables laid in crisp, white linen, illuminated by the soft pink glow of hurricane lamps. Baia is the shape of the future from the chic bar and lounge zones to the dining area and the terraces. The spacious interior brings the gorgeous colours and natural shapes of Table Bay inside, from the plush wavy couches to the white mosaic tiles in the timeless Mediterranean genre.

What a refreshingly breathtaking experience. The view, ambience and service is impressive. Very expensive but well worth every cent.
