Description:
Emily's at the Historic Clock Tower, is one of the unique features of the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Visitors can either sit under the cool umbrellas at the water's edge or climb to the top floor and sit on the balcony or in the tower at Executive Chef the famous clock mechanism.

Our light menu offers a range of delicious, diverse, South African treats.

Executive Chef; Johan Odendaal says: My philosophy of cooking is simple: let the ingredients speak for themselves. I am set on flavour and do not follow trends by other chefs, nor do I copy them. I am in love with the flavours of Africa and proud to be a South African "boere-boy". Often I combine hot and cold on the same plate and frequently contrast flavours or do a counterpoint of similar flavours in order to create a complex canvas.

Fabulous fine dining, 14 Apr 2008
Reviewer: anonymous (Adventurousness: I'll order it as per the menu.)

Comments: We recently enjoyed a wonderful anniversary meal at Emily's. The decor is sumptuous and the views across the harbour and Waterfront are lovely - especially as night falls. The service was without flaw and our waiter was very clearly enjoyed by an American couple sitting nearby us as they were chatting extensively about their South African holiday. The menu would be a bit on the adventurous side for your average 'steak & chips' type but the food was excellent - beautifully presented, wonderful flavours and generous portions - so while the prices were a little on the high side the meal nevertheless felt good value. All in all a very good evening.
