Description: Mon Plaisir at Chamonix nestles beneath majestic oak trees with breathtaking views across the picturesque Franschhoek valley to the Simonsberg mountains beyond. We invite our guests to "feed their souls" on the stunning scenery whilst dining 'al fresco' under the oak trees. A unique feature of Chamonix Restaurant is the wine tasting room, which offers complimentary wine tasting so that diners can be assured of having the correct wine to accompany their meal. The tasting room, with its magnificent mural of the wine estate, has proved hugely successful and diners can also purchase wines, grappas and delicious chocolates directly from the restaurant. The Head Chef Dane Newton has a menu is based on Classical French cuisine with a bit of a Japanese twist and contains some of the traditional French favourites such as Escargot a la Bourguignonne (snails served in their shells with a garlic & parsley butter). Uitkyk Str. Franschhoek Western Cape. Directions Drive out of Cape Town on N1 past Belville & Brackenfell (passed Tygervalley) turn-offs. Keep on driving; pass the Windlands 1-Stop Engen petrol station as well as the first Stellenbosch turn-off after the petrol station.You will Take the next turn-off "Stellenbosch/Klapmuts" and turn right at the stop. Approximately 500m further, pass over the 4-way stop. Shortly after the 4 way you turn left at the Franschhoek sign. Carry on with this road until it ends in a T-junction just after the railway train crossing. Turn right at the T-junction on the way to Franschhoek. This road will take you straight into Franschhoek. Uitkyk street is you second left after PIPPIN"S farmstall on your right. Go straight up Uitkyk street and Chamonix Restaurant is on the right hand side after the guard house. |
