Topsi Venter is me're cuisin'ere` of this idiosyncratic, ultra relaxed South Africa eatery. The food reflects the best of South African products and cooking methods. For Topsi, food is 100% culture and love. Every flavour has meaning and an origin. The chalk board menu is scrawled in such terrible handwriting that is is impossible to make out, but, everything is delicious, look for any word that you can identify and order that... The ginger and lemongrass bobotie is packed with hand chopped plaas-style lamb chunks, and the springbok sausages with chilli jam are a signature dish worth signing up for. May restaurateurs in the winelands talk about Terroir but only Topsi is the Terroir. This is Nathaniel's favourite restaurant and he never fails to arrive without wonderful gifts for the Terroir.
