Description: Herman de Kock and Phillipus Hugo offer country cooking at its best at 254 Greyton on Friday and Saturday evenings, and on their farm Driefontein for Sunday lunch. The restaurant has a relaxed and personal atmosphere. The menu includes the not-to-be-missed lamb pie, made with tender, slow-braised shanks encased in superb pastry and served with a succulent gravy. The rolled roast lamb loin stuffed with spinach and chorizo sausage, served on a bed of creamy wholegrain mustard mash, is great but large and not for the faint-hearted. End with Overberg cheesecake, which is rich with a crunchy chocolate base. Booking is essential and opening times are seasonal so check before. |
