Bientang's Cave Seafood Restaurant is situated on the shores of Walker Bay and is carved into the depths of a century old cave extending over the rocks almost to the water's edge. Bientang's Cave is in the heart of the best land-based whale watching area of the world and is a prime tourist attraction in one of the most beautiful Marine Reserves in the Western Cape, overlooking the only whale sanctuary on the African Continent.

Famous for our bouillabaisse soup and line fish grilled on open fire, our seafood is delectable with patrons returning regularly to sample our fayre. At our oyster bar on the rocks you can enjoy fresh oysters and fine wine with the waves lapping at your feet.

We offer a full a la carte menu consisting of various seafood, daily specials and a variety of delectable desserts and coffees.
Our fantastic selection of wines, which are stored in our unique, natural cellar located in the inner depths of the cave have received two Merit Awards, two Platinum Awards, a Gold Award from Diner's Club in the last five years and a Diamond Award in 2010!

Known as one of the most unusual restaurants in the world, Bientang's Cave is an exceptional choice for any special occasion , whether it be a large or small company function, private party, charity event, product launch or team-building exercise.

One can enjoy our delicious seafood and sip on the best wines the Cape has to offer on the deck, while watching the whales less than 100m away.

Available for hire for evening functions for groups over 35 patrons, we are also host to numerous tour groups throughout the year.

Read more "I reserved a table at Bientangs Cave via e mail 2 weeks ago and confirmed earlier last week for my booking which was on last Friday.
We took time from work - traveled from Cape Town and booked accommodation nearby with the sole purpose of our journey being to eat at what looked (and is) a beautiful spot on the beach front.
We arrived 10 mins before the agreed time to be confronted by 6 staff in uniforms but when we approached the reservations desk we were told that the restaurant was not open.
The guy on the desk was doing his best and told us that we had been sent a mail (we hadn't) and any thoughts that I may have missed said e mail were dismissed when a group of 6 who booked their table 3 months ago arrived just behind us to be told the same BS (they had not received a mail either) - A quick look back through the reviews for this farce of a business would indicate that many others have endured the same experience.
I asked to speak to the owner to be told that he wasn't there (surprise surprise - probably hiding around the corner) and have left an answerphone message (they never answer the phone) and an e mail which i still have not had a reply to.
