Description: The Dalla Cia’s have finally found the perfect place to merge their love of food and wine. There’s patriarch Giorgio Dalla Cia, who having worked as the cellar master at Meerlust for 25 years, is renowned in wine circles as the doyen of Bordeaux wines in South Africa. Son George is a 3rd generation grappa distiller and the dynamic marketing mind behind Dalla Cia. Wife Elena heads Pane E Vino, which combines the essence of an Italian “vineria” where you can enjoy the Dalla Cia wines and grappas, and that of a “bar tavola calda”. Have a coffee, a homebaked focaccia sandwich or even a light meal, choosing from slow-cooked mouthwatering dishes and fresh salads displayed in a deli fridge, ready to be consumed. Besides their wines the Dalla Cia Grappa is served as a digestive, in a caffe’ corretto, in ice cream, or even as a cocktail softened with cream. The meaning of the name “bread and wine” embodies its ethos: simple, basic, traditional.
