Rene, a Dutchman, is a skilled chef and winner of the "Silveren kokslepel" an award given for excellent cooking in the Netherlands. Mary Ann hails from the Cape and is the designer of Kaijaiki - the name, building and interior. Only 45 min drive form Cape Town, Yzerfontein typifies all that is best in a beach village, A sense of calm serenity prevails here. Whales enter the bay to calve in the summer months and can regularly be seen enjoying themselves.
