Delicious

Linda

I went on holiday and came across this restaurant. The food I must say is really delicious, the service there is fast and efficient. If you driving through it is a must that you try this place out if you need your belly satisfied. Thanks to the staff for excellent service, you don't get that these days.

Best seafood restaurant in St Francis

I had the best calamari of my life here. It was soooo delicious. Great service and great atmosphere here with a beautiful view of the port and ocean. If you are in the area, be sure to have dinner here. My hubby had the Ribs and they were also divine.

An awesome dining experience

I'm not that crazy about hake, but I had the hake and calamari combo on recommendation from the waitress. This was the best piece of hake I've ever had and the calamari was so tasty and not too tough or chewy. We also had oysters for starters. I've eaten oysters all over South Africa and these were the freshest, most delicious oysters I've had anywhere. I had a Chocolate Delight for desert and it was also delicious. The service was exceptional too. I left my waitress a lovely big tip as I was so impressed with her professional service and excellent food knowledge.

Chokka Block restaurant

On been warmly welcomed by hostess Maria , we were seated and asked for our drinks order which came timeously.
Being a knowledgeable seafood lover - our local calamari is more chewy but far more tasty than the imported variety - the restaurant delivered exactly this - lightly dusted in flour , cooked perfectly and served with ample lemon!

The Fish of the day is also to be highly recommended - also not overcooked which so many restaurant fail to deliver on!
I overheard a fellow diner rave about the Thai Curry - said it was of the best she had tasted.

We did not opt for desserts as the starter and main were very satisfying and opted to rather have an excellent Irish coffee , served with the wide smile of Maria. We also heard that Marais nickname is Thai Maraai - due to her excellent green curry. She tells me she learnt of a secret ingredient whilst holidaying in Thailand recently!

On my next visit to the Port, I will be returning to repeat the awesome dining experience.

I recently had a sublime dinner at Chokka Block restaurant. With its breathtaking view of the working little harbour and impressive sea views just sitting down is a treat. But the food! Amazingly fresh fish and local calamari was just about the best I've ever had. The waitress was friendly, fun and was able to accommodate all my requests. A better evening I have never had. I had there local hake which just does not compare to what I was used. My friends had some of their other fishes and Fiona had prawns. Gorgeous! Definitely a all round great experience.
