We had a fantastic time at Maze, exceptionally flavourful food and great atmosphere. A visual feast with local flavours & influences. Loved it!

We went to Maze with the idea of finding faults and having been so disappointed by South African dining experiences in the past we believed that we would be disappointed (yes I know it’s a very negative way to approach this, but read on).
For the first time I could understand why people would go to a restaurant to have an experience! Maze had the best staff, the most delicious flavourful food (even the salad was exploding in my mouth), great wine and great ambiance.
I had the South African seared steak as a starter and it was the meatiest beefiest flavour I ever tasted! - Please have this.
Maze being a little more expensive than most restaurants one would think that it is money not well spent, but I can assure you I will go back and spend that money any day!
Do yourself a favour and go! You will not be disappointed.
PS. They really keep on feeding you even when you are at home (they give you a little surprise to take home).

the waiter persuade me to try out their famous steak, cost R750 and extra R50 for sauce, maybe something wrong with my taste buds and I'm not a gourmet, so cant really taste if their is a huge difference and how special the steak is. My girlfriend had a poultry meal and which was unpredictably good! average spending is around 300 to 400. The restaurant definitely is stunning with huge wine cupboard and good lighting. for life experience, its a must try! *Since I paid over thousand rand for that meal, I have to give a rating of 10 for food! otherwise I feel sorry for myself!
