I took out my boyfriend to Stef's Table for his birthday celebration on 15 May. The ambiance was awesome, the music was really serenading us to a beautiful night. The feeling was romantic and classy, yet homey. The food was divine and we had the opportunity to share a conversation with both Stef and Athlone, which was like the best part of the night (after the food). We will definitely be going back there when we're at Harties. This place is highly recommended. Also, check out their majestic chandelier. Thank you Stef and Athlone.

Thank you for a delicious meal. We enjoyed lunch at Stef's on the 9th of August. My family was a little unsure on arriving, with rather quaint decor. However the food was really excellent. Not a cheap meal, but really delicious.

Food was inspired - particularly liked the calamari, pork with crackling and duck.
Setting is lovely, calm and cosy. Service was personal, attentive with enough banter to make it fun. Wine list was great. All in all a fabulous experience.

We have been going to Stef's now for over six years from when we moved to the area. The food is always great and Stef and Athlone always make you feel that you are their best friends.

If we have a special occasion like a birthday party, anniversary or farewell they always try to make it special. I must not forget their fantastic wine tastings with Stef's food to compliment the different wines.

Our first visit and we will certainly be back. Superb food, fresh ingredients and well balanced delivery of flavours. Prawn starter, one fillet main and one duck main - both outstanding. A lovely atmosphere as well as a good wine list. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Have been there quite a few times. For my one birthday he made a memorable fillet with chocolate and chilli sauce. The ginger and prawn starter is a favourite and the duck is absolutely cooked to perfection. The desserts are always fresh and delightful.

I booked a lunch for my hubby's bday at Stef's table. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. The venue was cosy and had so much character and the food had loads of flavour. Stef and Athlone, our hosts, paid so much attention to detail and ensured we were comfortable at all times. To make the day even more special Stef played a Mozart piece on the piano for us. This place is definitely one of Joburg's best kept secrets and I will definitely be back and highly recommend it. Worth the drive...

Athlone and Stef are an incredible combo! Stef cooks up a storm while Athlone looks after front of house and does the most incrdible stained glass window work. The food is ALWAYS amazing and being locals we are very proud of them. I would recommend Stef's Table for any occasion.

I booked a table for my boyfriends birthday after someone highly recommending Stef's table to me. So glad we made the trip from Johannesburg as it was well worth it. My boyfriend and I went for an anniversary lunch on Sunday at Stef's Table. What a lovely little find. We were the only patrons and Stef took good care of us and even served the food himself. The food was outstanding (snails in phyllo, halloumi and pineapple, the best Kingklip with Gorgonzola and Fillet steak - also a very yummy dessert which I can't pronounce!) and I loved the decor of the restaurant. We took our own wine and paid corkage.

Highly recommended for a romantic, intimate meal in a unique setting with a chef who has a real passion for food and the people he makes it for.

What an awesome experience! My wife and I were looking for a special evening away from the kids - just the two of us. She was looking for a romantic place and got Stef's Table on the internet.

We were booked for 18h30 and only arrived there at 18h50. On our arrival Stef met us outside, introduced himself and escorted us to the restaurant - it is not really a restaurant - it feels like home with a fireplace inside and a 11 year old Sharpei in her bed in front of it. We were 5 couples inside and the music, ambiance and atmosphere was incredible. We decided to treat ourselves with a bottle of Tortoise Hill and paid the R35 corkage. How impressed were we with the food. I had Springbok and my wife Fillet with a green pepper sauce. She also had Brandy pudding for dessert. While eating dessert Stef played for us on the piano which was wonderful. We left at about 22h00 and again Stef walked us to the car.

Treat yourselves and book a table. I will not recommend it for kids but should you seek a romantic evening with your love-one this is definitely the place.
