This restaurant has been the highlight of my prawn dining experiences in South Africa every time. Not to be confused with the conveyor belt dining of a franchise with almost the same name - Adega de Monge is by far the restaurant with the best Portuguese food and good old fashioned service. I'm no food critic - I just love good food and service and people who deliver on that every time deserve praise and support. Even the neighbourhood is picking up - must be the smell of the food!

Well done ADEGA DO MONGE, we were at your restaurant for Mothers Day and Fathers Day, both for lunch. Well done to the new owners Lindy & Fernando Bartolo, you both are a superb team, and the food has most definitely improved since you took over. Really good to see young happy enthusiastic faces around. Obrigada

If you're looking for classy atmosphere, good safe parking, excellent service, great food (with generous portions), and reasonable prices, then Adega Do Monge is for you, you will not be disappointed. I took my wife for a meal to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday 5 October and could honestly not find anything to complain about (some restaurants generally only get it partially right i.e. good food but lousy service, or lousy food and ridiculous prices, or great food, great service but terrible venue)... Adega Do Monge has found the magic formula and the experience begins even before you enter the restaurant. The security guard directs you to a suitable parking, greets you and wishes you a great evening ahead. Inside the classic 'colonial' style grand old lady of a house (with Oregon floors and old worlde architecture) you feel as if you've entered your grandmother's house, welcoming and homely. The hosts are friendly and approachable, service impeccable and of course the food, delectable. Thank you Adega for a really wonderful evening. We will be back.
