Bistro

A Bistro is a small, relaxed restaurant that serves unpretentious "pocket friendly" food such as burgers, steak and chips or soup. Dishes are prepared with fresh, healthy ingredients and are cooked simply to show off the flavours. Often family-run, a Bistro is usually small and atmospheric.

Legend has it that the word Bistro comes from the time when the Russians occupied France. When the patrons of a restaurant felt that the food was taking too long they would yell a word sounding similar to "Bistro" which meant "hurry" or "rapidly".
