A Deli or Delicatessen is a restaurant or shop that typically sells pre-prepared sandwiches, salads, cheeses and cold meats. Delis are growing rapidly in popularity as society becomes more aware of the vast array of food options available.

The word Delicatessen comes from a French word delicatesse and means "delicious things (to eat)". Delis often sell homemade goods, organic produce and specialty items that aren't stocked in the neighbourhood grocery shops.
