Restaurant description

Zest Garden Bistro, situated in the heart of Ngwenya Glass Village, which is the perfect country escape for all and is only 20 minutes from Fourways. They have a delectable selection of gourmet foods and have a full liquor license. Zest is a great family venue with a full playground for the kids, candle-making and sand-art. And don't forget the pony rides, will be available from the 14th February at a cost of R 10 per child.

A second branch was opened at The Palms Nursery in Witkoppen Road, North Riding. This venue also sports a large fun-filled playground and mini farmyard for the kids. Zest funky menu has many exciting dishes, just imagine a bowl of fresh Saldanha Bay mussels swimming in a sea of fresh cream, spring onion, garlic and white wine. Ooh, don't forget to mention the famous lamb shank kleftiko stuffed with garlic and topped with feta cheese.

For the not so naughty, a rare roast beef sandwich with home-made onion marmalade served on freshly baked whole-wheat bread. And for the very naughty, the decadent white chocolate cheese cake made with imported white chocolate and marscapone cheese ? but the chocolate wedge drizzled with home-made creamy chocolate sauce could make the final choice quite a challenge. It's definitely worth another visit!

There is undercover seating as well on a lovely patio (for the locals ?stoep?) and wooden deck, the restaurant can seat up to 140 guests. On a rainy day the restaurant can accommodate 100 people very comfortably undercover, the fireplace is lit and the heaters are on to keep everyone warm and cosy.

The in-house party planner can create the perfect special function for you. For all kinds of functions: stork parties, baby showers, kiddies birthday parties, 21st's and all your special birthday functions. So no matter what the weather come inside and enjoy a hot cup of Landucci coffee, a slice of home-baked lemon 'n lime tart and browse through a selection of books. Zest is a great meeting place for all kinds of clubs and also host interesting Tea Talks.
