Restaurant description

This is the 3rd exciting Mythos store to be unveiled and for those Greek culinary enthusiasts, offers the same fusion of Greek delights with a hint of sophistication, that diners have experienced at both Fourways and Bedfordview. Located 5 mins from the centre of Sandton in the trendy Atholl Square complex, Mythos will appeal to those who enjoy a quiet romantic setting for two, or perhaps an exhilarating night out for those who would prefer to ?paint the town White?. The crisp uncluttered interior features stunning white on white with accents of sparkling blue and sea green in true Greek island style. In perfect contrast with the white walls the reception area displays a collage of Greek islands scenes and multi coloured panels with dramatic effect, alongside the artistically arranged blue bottles behind the gleaming white bar counter.

A spiral staircase leads to the upper floor seating where diners can take advantage of the soaring double volume ceiling to get a bird's eye view of the superb interior and giant size light fittings. A sheltered patio area looks out across Sandton and tables have been designed around the miniture topiary olive trees which have become a signature of the Mythos concept. Further tables and outdoor couches are clustered in the central square which is a hub for al fresco diners from early morning until late.

The Greek's passion for life, beauty and of course food, ensures a joyous eating experience at Mythos. The menu is a superb exploration of authentic Greek cuisine. You can enjoy a variety of Meze, or traditional cooked meals such as Kleftiko, Pastitsio and Mousaka, or meat, fish and seafood dishes as mouth-watering alternatives. You can also enjoy some lovely light lunch options with pita breads and a delectable range of salads. Vegetarians are well catered for and as a tantalizing end to a fine meal, why not enjoy a traditional dessert dessert such as home-made Baklava, or Halva and Greek yoghurt served with nuts and honey. The wine list offers a good selection of Greek and top quality South African wines as well as top-end Champagnes, Greek beer and a well-chosen cocktail menu. Don?t forget to end your meal in typical Greek style with strong coffee and a glass of Ouzo!
