The people at De Kloof restaurant are passionate about bringing together the finest food and wines.

We represent a movement against mediocrity and compromise. Our mission is to create dining experiences so memorable that you will lie in bed in the mornings and still half-dream about them. We tend to go overboard in finding the best suppliers and we?d like to think that this is very noticeable when you visit De Kloof.

Beans about Coffee, our coffee supplier, travels the world to find the best beans, and we only sell coffee within 21 days of being roasted. Once we?d tasted Camelthorn beers and Brewers & Union beers we knew they had to be listed because they were both so superior to what we were used to.

Our cheese and charcuterie is sourced from small and passionate experts who have perfected their art. All our breads are freshly baked, our ice-creams and sorbets are home-made, our stocks are made in our kitchen, the sauces are crafted freshly by our chefs, the juices are freshly squeezed and the cuts of meat and seafood are sourced with obsessive attention to detail. We strongly believe in dry-ageing our beef when the cut allows. We lose around 30% of the weight but the flavour and tenderness is beyond the ordinary. De Kloof would not have it any other way.

Executive Chef Leanne Roberts and her chefs arguably represent one of the finest and most versatile new teams in the country. This allows De Kloof to change the menus on a weekly basis to ensure we only use the best ingredients we can find, and to keep our regulars enthralled.

Delectable dishes, exquisitely prepared. A number of dishes and combinations you won't find in many other eateries. "

Read more "What a WONDERFUL restaurant! I received a voucher for my birthday for De Kloof and took my hubby there for a romantic dinner. I had a gin martini (perfect!) and my husband a craft beer. We shared a starter (the seafood basket) which was amazing! Such a taste sensation with froth and pearls - beautiful, exciting and delicious. I was very excited. For mains we both had the Pork belly. My husband was a bit disappointed with the portion size, but having finished it, agreed that it was more than sufficient. We shared the chocolate dessert, which again was a feast for the eyes and the senses.

The chef came out and it made my night! She was friendly, funky and passionate and really brought the place to life. With a bottle of red wine, water and a generous tip, the total came to R800 which I thought was very good given the type of cuisine and what you pay to eat out these days.
I'll be taking my foodie family back there December to experience it!

PS - if you like a LOT of food for mains, you might be disappointed. Don't expect mountains of food - it's not about that. Also, my husband ordered a castle, and they seemed not to have. I think they focus on craft beer only. Otherwise, I'll definitely be back there. The food is exquisite! I have recommended it to numerous people afterwards who have all gone and enjoyed it tremendously."
