The Restaurant at Neethlingshof Review

Bright and early on a Saturday morning, myself and two lady friends headed off to Stellenbosch for a girls day out.

The Restaurant at Neethlingshof Review

For breakfast we were excited to be visiting The Restaurant at Neethlingshof which is situated at the heart of the picturesque Neethlingshof Wine Estate.

On arrival we were shown to our table out on the beautiful veranda in front of the restaurant which overlooks the vineyards and the stunning Stellenbosch Mountain range.

The restaurant itself is housed in the original Manor House which was built in 1814. The four beautiful and uniquely furnished rooms have a lovely sense of old world charm with their high wood ceilings and antique decor.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and took our orders as soon as we were settled in.

To start off with I enjoyed a freshly brewed Cafe Latte and the ladies enjoyed a fresh and tasty orange juice as well as a Hot Chocolate Spoon - Belgian chocolate on a spoon, which you dip in hot milk, stir, lick and repeat (absolutely delicious and exclusively found only at Neethlingshof).

For my breakfast I opted for the Grande Breakfast which included two fried eggs, two rashers of juicy bacon, a tasty beef sausage, freshly grilled mushrooms and grilled tomato, flavourful potato rosti, a sweetcorn fritter and a slice of warm toast. I was delighted with the generous portion which really filled my appetite wonderfully. A great wholesome and hearty start to the day.

My friends indulged in an Eggs Benedict Salmon which featured two perfectly poached eggs, smoked salmon, a heavenly hollandaise sauce and a freshly made English muffin; and a tantalising Breakfast Croissant with egg, tomato, fresh avo and rocket.

Overall we were very impressed with our meals and I'd love to visit the estate again to enjoy one of their wine tastings and lunch.

The lunch and dinner menu offers a really wide variety and seems to offer something for every taste. A new addition to the estate are their pizza ovens - meaning guests will be able to enjoy a freshly prepared pizza to enjoy with a glass of wine.

I would certainly recommend popping in to visit this beautiful estate when next in Stellenbosch to enjoy a magical Neethlingshof experience.
